QUICK ANSWER

Comfy Agent brings conversational workflow building into ComfyUI. A useful first project keeps the graph inspectable and the creative brief bounded, with cloud access distinguished from promised local rollout.

What launched and what was still planned

The October 1 announcement makes the beta available in Comfy Cloud, with Desktop expected in a few weeks. It describes planning, building, running and iterating on workflows while users inspect node parameters. Initial chats are free to try, with Comfy Credits used afterwards. A separate August local MCP release describes connecting external agents to local ComfyUI; that is not proof that the new embedded Agent beta has already shipped locally.

Give the agent a creative acceptance brief

Our suggested first task is three background variants for one approved product image. State the product details that must remain, the output aspect ratios and the permitted scene changes. Ask for a proposed workflow before a large batch. Review one representative output and its graph, then decide whether to expand. A broad instruction to make twenty ads can multiply an unnoticed error across every result before anyone has checked the product or message.

The graph is part of the answer

Save the workflow with model names, node versions, resolution, seeds and relevant parameters. Our recommendation is to ask what each stage contributes and which component creates the expensive or unreliable step. If an agent substitutes a different model, inspect the reason and its terms before accepting the change. A pleasing preview is useful, but a reproducible workflow is what lets another editor revise the asset without restarting the entire investigation.

Treat automation as controlled iteration

For a batch, include one deliberately awkward input and retain rejected results. Record which failure came from prompting, image preparation, model behavior or a broken node. Our suggested stop rule is to pause when the same critical defect appears twice rather than continue spending credits blindly. Human review still owns brand accuracy and factual representation. An agent can help navigate technical work, but the publisher must decide whether an output meets the approved creative brief.

Local ambitions need current access evidence

Before planning a local deployment, verify the currently installed product and release notes rather than turning the launch’s future tense into present availability. GPU fit belongs to the chosen generation model and workflow, not simply to the Agent name. We have not run this beta or generated its demonstration assets. Read the local MCP guide and the weekly release checklist as background, then check their links against the actual environment you intend to operate.

CLEAR ANSWERS

Frequently asked questions

Was Desktop availability confirmed by the launch post?

The October 1 post describes Cloud availability and a future Desktop rollout, rather than saying Desktop was already released.

What should I save besides the output image?

Save the workflow, component versions, parameters and brief so an editor can reproduce and revise the result.

Does an Agent name establish my GPU requirement?

No. Hardware needs depend on the selected model, resolution, nodes and execution configuration.
